Main Responsibilities
– Supervising a team of bulk fuel drivers
– Being able to work under pressure
– Punctuality & leading by example
– Monitoring supply & offloading points to ensure safe and speedy turnaround of fleet.
– Briefing & debriefing of drivers
– Coaching of drivers on driving behaviours
– Ensuring drivers adhere to and abide by the company’s policies and procedures
– Incident fact gathering of data & timeous reporting to management
– Understanding how to plan and optimize routes to minimize transit times, reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions.
– Ensuring records are kept up to date for internal and external audits
– Familiarity with scheduling algorithms and techniques, such as first-come-first-served, earliest-deadline-first and priority scheduling.
– Understanding the challenges and complexities of vehicle routing problems, including capacity constraints, time windows and traffic patterns.
– Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations, such as hours of service, weight and size limits and hazardous materials transportation.
– Familiarity with GPS tracking and telematics systems, including their capabilities and limitations.
– Understanding of dispatch and logistics software, including their features and functionality.
– Knowledge of real-time traffic management systems and their ability to optimize routes and reduce congestion.
